Weightlifting Seminar Part II - 2.02.13

Kara Funk and Anne Lehman will be giving a synopsis of “Weightlifting Progression” by Derrick Crass, 2 time Olympian in the sport of weightlifting, inventor of DC Blocks, and their coach. The Part II seminar will be on Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at CFSTL. (Note: You do not need Part I to come to Part II.)

Part 2  - There will be no power point & will be Clean & Jerk - Whole-Part-Whole/Top-Down Progression. This is a method which precisely teaches the lifter the following: The lift starts from the power position & into the full extension. Much practice is needed for every lifter to have proficiency in this position first before going to the very technical positions such as the knee and the floor. Once the lifter feels proficient in the explosion in the power position and extension, it is easier for the lifter to be successful at the knee and the floor positions. This is Derrick Crass' method. As you know, he is the inventor of DC Blocks and a 2 time Olympian '84 & '88. We are all so very lucky to have exposure to this. It's how the best of the best lift!

This workshop will be fun. You will work hard. You will leave with more confidence than when you arrived and you will be tired.
