One of the things I find fascinating about CrossFit athletes and the CrossFit community is how giving they are as a group. Whenever we have drives, fund raisers or events for charity, our community comes through in spades. So first and foremost, thank you CrossFit St. Louis for being that giving community.
With that, I’d like to shout out to our team and coaches Stephanie Dacey and Emily Seabaugh (You didn’t even know Emily was a certified coach did you?) They are volunteering weekly with a group of kids through the Mission St. Louis “Beyond School” program to invest in their physical development. One day a week, the kids are coming to CrossFit St. Louis this summer to burn off some energy, and learn a bit about diet and exercise. We are also opening this opportunity to kids from our own gym community.
Mission St. Louis’ Beyond School program provides an avenue for kids to better prepare for high school through their extended experience with social, emotional and academic tools. What we are providing at the gym this summer is experiential learning. An opportunity to experience something that these kids would not otherwise ever see or do.
Why is this important to know about? We simply want to make you aware that your investment in your fitness at CrossFit St. Louis is often shared with others beyond our walls and to let you know that you impact lives in ways you sometimes aren’t even aware of.
Thank you for your membership, friendship and the continued giving spirit that embodies the CrossFit St. Louis family.
