-Why do you CrossFit?

I love the way it makes me feel. I had heard about Crossfit and thought it would be fun to try. I was hooked from the beginning. It’s a great workout, different every time, and it’s up to me to decide how much I want to get out of it each time I come. 

-Why do you choose CrossFit St. Louis?

The people. I started coming for the workout, but I have met so many incredible members and coaches. They push me and entertain me, there’s no better way to work out. 

-What do you want to accomplish in CrossFit?

I want to maintain strength and fitness.

-What is your favorite movement and why?

I love rowing and back squats. They both make me feel strong and successful. 

-What are your hobbies?

I love being with family and friends, reading, watching movies, playing games, and working out.

-Why do I CrossFit?

I am 53 years old. 6 years ago a very good friend of mine and I decided to run a Tough Mudder. I joined CrossFit Yuma in order to train for this event. I really never looked back. After 6 months, we completed the Tough Mudder in Temecula, CA. and it was a significant event in my life. I enjoy the folks in the gym, I enjoy the workouts in the gym, and I want to have a decent quality of life and live a little longer. This regimen I feel is a big part in that equation.

-Why do you choose CrossFit St. Louis?

When I moved home from Arizona, I was looking for a CrossFit gym. Crossfit Yuma was primarily attended by members of the military and their spouses, law enforcement on a federal, state, and local level, and a few of us older business people. The Demographic in your gym is considerably different. I choose CrossFit St. Louis for two reasons – David Cornthwaite and Cory Buerck. They are two terrific instructors that sincerely care about the well being of each athlete regardless of your level of fitness and strength. These guys are a credit to their profession.

-What do I want to accomplish in CrossFit?

As indicated above, I am 53 years old. My lifestyle and nutrition aren’t exemplary. Working out 4 days a week at CrossFit St. Louis provides the balance in my life that I am looking for. There is always someone bigger, stronger, faster, I am certainly not competing with anyone as I usually bring up the rear in the class. Having said that – I enjoy how I feel at the end of the workout and it is the perfect way to end the day.

-What is my favorite movement and why?

Burpee Box Jumps completely destroy me. Having said that – I live for them.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy thoroughbred horse racing. I was in the game for 15+ years as an owner, breeder, and general fanatic. I also enjoy live music, traveling, and politics.
